Starting Thursday: From the Old Location
If you go back far enough with us, you'll remember this one. Calamari steak with mussels in a saffron sauce is back — a throwback straight from the old location, and one the longtime regulars have quietly been hoping we'd bring around again.
Tender calamari steak, plump mussels, and a golden saffron sauce that smells like the Mediterranean coast and tastes even better. It's coastal, it's a little nostalgic, and it's exactly the kind of dish that made people fall for this place in the first place.
We're pouring it with the Muga Rosé (Rioja, Spain, 2025) by the glass — and it's a beautiful match. Made by Bodegas Muga in Haro, the historic heart of Rioja (fun fact: they're the only winery in Spain with their own in-house master cooper, hand-building their barrels), it's a Garnacha-based rosé aged on the lees for real depth. Pale pink, with peach, stone fruit, rose petal, and a bright, mouth-watering acidity that cuts clean through the saffron cream. Spanish wine, Spanish saffron, a little sea — it just makes sense.
